Were you ever talking to a friend about how copyright restrictions really affect us all, and wished you could just hand them one little booklet signed by the author
that explains everything? In full-color comics? Signed by the author?
With QuestionCopyright.org Artist-in-Residence Nina Paley's increasingly ubiquitous Mimi & Eunice
characters? Signed by the author?
Yeah, that happens to us all the time too. Fortunately, now there is such a booklet. And it's signed by the author
(Hint: get a signed one for yourself, and then buy lots unsigned
ones at the cheaper bulk prices, to hand out to your friends.)
Originally funded by a Kickstarter campaign
, this booklet is "Free-as-in-freedom
" — you can copy, translate, and edit it, and even print out your own if you really want to spread the word (though purchasing them in bulk
from us at eminently reasonable prices is a fine option too, of course).
The master files are available at the Internet Archive
: the covers are PNG files, the interior is a PDF containing image files. Everything has light blue registration marks, which you may want to remove. The back cover has a blank voice balloon where the ISBN barcode is on the American version. Put anything you want in there.
If you want to include the Creator Endorsed Mark, please contact Nina Paley. Otherwise, go crazy! Go crazy anyway! Free Culture!♡ Copying is an act of love. Please copy & share.
